My holistic massage practice offers a range of bodywork to help you relax, rejuvenate and heal.
This is a gentle yet deep form of massage that uses long flowing strokes, muscle kneading, deep circular movements, vibration and tapping to help you relax and energize. A Swedish massage is an excellent way to bring your body’s systems back into balance. It is performed on a massage table with oils and lotion.
Shiatsu is based on the holistic system of traditional Chinese medicine and uses kneading, pressing, soothing, tapping, and stretching techniques performed without oils through light, comfortable clothing on a Shiatsu mat on the floor. The effects may be stimulating and invigorating or calming and sedative, depending on the goal of the session.
Shiatsu is based on the fundamental concept that Qi (pronounced chee) is our vital life energy that flows through specific pathways in our body called meridians. Health exists when there is abundant Qi flowing unobstructed; symptoms arise when Qi is deficient or out of balance. Shiatsu massage stimulates and harmonizes the flow of Qi to alleviate conditions, restore balance, and promote health.
